Dad learns that polishing a car ‘is not a simple process’

Cleaning carA father and self-confessed petrolhead has revealed that he thought he knew all about using car polish until his son gave him a few pointers.

Speaking to the Aberdeen Press and Journal, Johnstone Aitken said that he has always had a love of cars and has passed the bug onto his son, who now runs a successful car detailing company.

He stated that he showed his son Clark how to get rid of scratches from the bodywork using a scratch remover and that he has always been keen on applying car polish to his motors.

Now, he goes to Clark for any advice on car exterior care.

"It has gone from the point of me thinking I knew how to polish a car properly to me having to follow Clark’s instructions for washing and drying the car to the letter," Mr Aitken told the newspaper.

According to the ohtsuatvtires blog, only certain cloths should be used on a car’s bodywork, as some can cause damage, those considering buying microfibre cloths may want to note.
