Autoglym Paint Renovator scoops Auto Express Car Scratch Removers Best Buy Award 2010

Autoglym Paint RenovatorAuto Express have just published their 2010 Car Scratch Removers test results; with the first place Best Buy Award 2010 going to Autoglym Paint Renovator.

Whilst not strictly marketed as a pure car scratch remover Auto Express commented that it also clears fine scratches as well as renovating the paint finish. Jamie Fretwell, Consumer Writer at Auto Expres wrote “It’s simple to use, left no trace of our most visible scratch and the paintwork was still shiny”.

In a close second place was Meguiars Ultimate Compound achieving ther Recommended 2010 award. Auto Express commented that ” It’s more like a liquid than a paste, and this makes it easy to apply. We were also impressed with the scratch removing qualities. What’s more, it didn’t dull the paint, while the keen price helped it take the second spot”

In third place on the test was Poorboys World SSR2 Swirl Remover which put in a “strong performance” and “worthy of its third-place finish”.

What is Nano Technology and how does it Work in Car Care Products?

Like many other industries the car care market is always looking for that next breakthrough product that will provide a “better shine”, “more effective scratch removal” or “the best beading you have ever seen”. The adoption of “Nano Technology” appears to be one of those band wagons that many manufacturers are now jumping on-board.

But what is Nanotech as it is more commonly called, how does it work and what, if any, are the benefits to you?

The wikipedia definition of Nanotech is: “the study of the controlling of matter on an atomic and molecular scale.” In other words developing materials whose basic structure is made of particles measuring between 1 and 100 billionth of a meter in at least one dimension.

To give you an idea of how small that is, it would take eight hundred one hundred nanometer particles side by side to match the width of a human hair!
