Men ‘love their cars more than their wives’

More than ten per cent of men love their cars more than their wife or girlfriend, a new survey has found.

According to research by Turtle Wax, one in ten guys admit that they cherish their motor more than their other half, while four per cent revealed that they prize it above their children.

The study found that a third of men ban children from getting into the car over fears they may make a mess, something which could be rectified with car interior care products such as car plastic polish and car vinyl and rubber care.

Just five per cent of women said that they valued their car more than their partner, while a quarter stated that they would save their motor ahead of their wardrobe if they were forced to choose.

Andrew Freeman, European marketing director at the company, said that he was surprised at the level of honesty people displayed.

"We wanted to get under people's skin and discover their real relationships with cars – I think it's safe to say we've succeeded," he stated.

Despite cherishing their cars above all else, many men are clueless when it comes to maintaining their vehicles, with 41 per cent not even bothering to wash it, a recent survey from webuyanycar.com found.
