The rims and tyres are to a car what a nice pair of shoes are to a person's outfit – crucial to the overall look.
Alloys are usually optional extras except on the most expensive of vehicles, so if drivers have shelled out for them it makes sense to invest time in maintaining them.
This will pay dividends when the time comes to sell the vehicle, as shiny rims that look like new will appeal to those in the market for a new motor.
According to Cnnmoney.com, investing in wheel cleaners and tyre cleaner can deliver significant returns.
"Take the time to get in there and clean out dirt, dust and grime from the wheels. Also, swab a tyre shine product on the tyre sidewalls to make them look new," the source added.
The guys at Victory Detailing recently used chrome wheel cleaner on a customer's rims, stating that they took extra time to remove stubborn contaminants that had baked onto them.
