Drivers who own smart and stylish vehicles may be best advised to ensure they clean their car alloys on a regular basis during periods of cold weather.
The Day advises its readers the threat of ice getting trapped in wheels is a very serious one when temperatures drop below zero.
Indeed, many people even take their motors to garages believing there is something wrong with them, when in fact they could have prevented trouble by cleaning car alloys.
"Starting tomorrow (January 15th) … the ice will freeze up hard overnight. And then, in the morning, when [drivers] start to get out and go, they're going to feel the tires wobbling," garage owner Gina Pennell is quoted as saying.
Knocking visible snow from vehicles is a good tactic to start with, while some people may find ways to melt ice.
A blog by Amy on Auto Product Review recently suggested cleaning car alloys by hand is the best way to keep them in top shape.
