Drivers looking to sell their motors should invest in car care products if they want to maximise their chances of finding a buyer, it has been claimed.
Mike Tom, a Dodge dealer, told TribStar.com that neglected vehicles will obviously be more difficult to shift as they are unlikely to appeal to people in the market for a new set of wheels.
Motorists may want to invest in car waxes, car polish and car shampoo to ensure the bodywork makes a positive impact on potential buyers, while interior care is also something which must be given attention.
"Maintenance is always important. It's the first thing a customer gets an impression of, how the car looks," Mr Tom told the website.
One product which drivers will find lifts the finish on their bodywork is clay bars.
Brian Eisenhauer, writing on his personal blog, said that using them requires patience and care but the results are worth the effort.
