Brits ‘need to weigh up the pros and cons of different car wash options’

These days drivers have a number of options when it comes to cleaning their vehicles, from investing in car care products and doing the work themselves to taking it to a mechanical car wash.

According to Joanne's Pest Control and Carpet Cleaning blog, investing in car waxes, car shampoo and clay bars and doing the work themselves is the only option for many, as they enjoy caring for their own motor.

Mechanical car washes are expensive in comparison, the blog stated, while they can also damage the paint by scratching it.

A third option is to visit a hand car wash, which will use appropriate products such as hydra flexi blades, car polishes and bug cleaner to get the car looking great.

According to the blog, a mixture of the first and third methods is the probably the best way to go.

"The most cost-effective route is to get the cheapest hand wash option and finishing the job at home with wax and a quick hoover," the source went on to add.

Briton Robert Clarke recently took his Mercedes to a mechanical wash and was left regretting the decision after a drying arm malfunction saw it cause significant damage to his vehicle.
