Autoglym Rapid Detailer Auto Express Best Buy Award Winner 2011

Auto Express have just published their detailing spray product test results, with the first place Best Buy Award going to Autoglym Rapid Detailer.

Commenting on the test Auto Express concluded this product “ hard to beat. Simply spray it on and wipe with a polishing cloth. It was still beading water well after six weeks and is competitively priced”

The test comprised of sectioning the bonnet of a car that had been waxed and driven for a week before the test and was then washed and dried ready for the application of the detailers. Each detailing spray was assessed for ease of use, price and how well they beaded water over the next six weeks – which also included the latest of the big freezes we had here in the UK. A section of the bonnet was also left untreated for comparison.

In a close second place was Dodo Juice Red Mist which was considered “excellent if you’re looking for long life from and easy-to-use-product.”

And a respectable third place was awarded to Meguiar’s Quick Detailer. The testers commenting that it combined good value for money as well as easy application, adding that it was as easy to use as the Autoglym winner and cleared water well after the six weeks.

Other products included in the test were:

Poorboys World QD+
3M Quick Wax
Britemax Spray & Shine
Muc-Off Split Second Detailer Wax
Gtechniq C2 QD Spray
Valet Pro Cirtrus Bling
Lokate Liquid Detailing Wax

The final verdict also concluded that another top water shifter was Valet Pro Citrus Bling, which took the 4th spot just behind Meguiars Quik Detailer.

Autoglym seem to be on a roll, and we are seeing more products the reflect the rise in detailing.

To have a review that sees them beat a Meguiars product, the range more traditionally known by home detailers, must be very satisfying for Autoglym
