In September last year I searched on Google to find somewhere to purchase leather cleaner and conditioner for my new car's interior, and by chance Performance Motor Care popped up on my screen. I ordered what I required and within 48 hours it arrived,not only was I impressed by the product I was more than impressed with the company.

I used to have three men in a van arrive each week to clean my car,but as with almost everything these days the quality of work went down as the price went up, so I decided to do the job myself, and as Mr Clarkson from Top Gear said "How hard can it be ?"

I have just received my order of the mothers clay bar kit. I have been cleaning and polishing my cars for the last 23 years using a selection of abrasives and hard work to try and remove tar spots and debris from the paint.

You may think that car shampoo and car polish can do the job but with car detailing, it is important that different surfaces are treated with the correct products to get the best finish.

Car shampoo and car polish are designed to work on painted surfaces and not on plastics, meaning they cannot do as good a job as car plastic cleaner and car plastic polish.

You can also use car plastic polish on the interior of your car. As well as protecting the surface against dirt, some car plastic polish solutions can also remove scratches.

Car plastic polish and cleaner - how do I use them?

Using car plastic cleaner and car plastic polish is similar to applying normal car wax and car polish.

To begin with, you should use car plastic cleaner but only after you have washed the entire vehicle with car shampoo. Spray your car plastic cleaner onto a microfibre cloth and rub the lens covers, giving them a good clean.

Next, you should take another microfibre cloth and follow the same process with car plastic polish to provide a protective layer and make the lens covers even clearer.

Using car plastic cleaner and car plastic polish on the interior follows pretty much the same methodology.

Before applying car plastic cleaner, you should wipe down the centre console and other plastic areas with a slightly damp microfibre cloth to pick up any dust or dirt.

Then, take another microfibre cloth and apply the car plastic cleaner and work on one section of the console at a time.

Finally, spray your car plastic cleaner onto a microfibre cloth and apply it to the entire area.

By doing this, you will not only give your interior a good clean, you can also remove scratches and protect it from any damage.
